Halcyon days! I was 3 years old in 1952 & started fishing on the pier when I was 8-to this day I still remember my first 3 day festival on the pier-they used to peg the posts and the chains-an old boy on the chains fishing next to me dropped his bait straight down in the piles and caught a 4 pound plaice!
